Day 1Journey from Cusco to the Amazonian Depths

We will depart early from Cusco, traveling to the historic town of Paucartambo. Here, we witness the rich cultural heritage before ascending to Tres Cruces or Acjanaco Pass. This pass offers a panoramic view of the cloud forests below, where the Andes meet the Amazon. After lunch, we descend into the Manu Cloud Forest, renowned for its abundant birdlife and exotic orchids.

Our journey continues to Atalaya Port, cruising down the Madre de Dios River to the serene Machuwasi Lake. A two-hour drive takes us to Manu Rainforest Lodge, where we check in. An Amazonian dinner awaits, followed by an optional night hike to explore the nocturnal life of the rainforest.
