Welcome to Amazon Treehouse Lodge. By booking a stay, tour, or service through amazontreehouse.com («Website»), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read carefully — operating in a remote UNESCO Biosphere Reserve requires rules different from a city hotel.

1. Reservations & Payment

1.1 All bookings must be confirmed with a 40% deposit. Balance is due 45 days before arrival.
1.2 We accept bank transfer (USD/PEN), Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal (+4.5% fee).
1.3 Rates are per person, based on double occupancy, and include: lodging in treehouse, all meals, guided activities, river transfers from Atalaya, and park fees. Flights to/from Cusco, alcoholic beverages, tips, and travel insurance are not included.
1.4 Rates are quoted in USD and subject to 18% IGV for Peruvian residents only (foreign guests are exempt with valid passport).

2. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Because we are small (only 5 treehouses) and access is limited:

• +60 days: full refund minus $50 admin fee
• 45-60 days: 70% refund or 100% credit for 18 months
• 30-44 days: 50% refund or 80% credit
• <30 days: no refund (we turn away other guests and pre-purchase food/fuel)

We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellations for weather, illness, or flight delays.

3. Changes, Delays & No-Shows

3.1 The Manu road and Alto Madre de Dios river are weather-dependent. Delays are common in rainy season (Nov-Mar). We will not charge for the first missed night due to transport force majeure, but we cannot refund flights or third-party services.
3.2 No-shows are charged 100%.
3.3 Date changes are free once if requested >45 days in advance, subject to availability.

4. Health, Fitness & Safety

4.1 Amazon Treehouse is 3-6 hours from the nearest clinic. Guests must disclose pre-existing conditions, allergies, and mobility limitations before booking.
4.2 Minimum age is 8 years. Children must be supervised at all times — treehouses are elevated 6-8 meters.
4.3 Yellow fever vaccination is recommended (not required). Malaria risk is low but present; consult your doctor.
4.4 You must follow guide instructions at all times. Swimming in rivers, touching wildlife, or leaving trails alone is prohibited.

5. Environmental Conduct

Your stay funds conservation. By entering, you agree to:

• No single-use plastics, drones, speakers, or fishing/hunting gear
• No feeding animals or collecting plants
• Use only biodegradable products (we provide them)
• Maximum 10kg soft luggage (no hard suitcases on canoes)

Violation may result in immediate removal without refund.

6. Liability

Amazon Treehouse, its owners and guides, are not liable for injury, illness, loss, theft, or damage arising from: natural hazards, wildlife encounters, river travel, weather, or third-party services. You participate at your own risk. Peruvian law limits our liability to the amount paid for services.

7. Travel Insurance

Mandatory. Your policy must cover: medical evacuation (minimum $100,000), trip cancellation, and adventure activities up to 3,000m. Proof may be requested at check-in in Cusco.

8. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform due to events beyond control: floods, landslides, strikes, pandemics, government closures of Manu Park, or river levels. In such cases we will offer a credit valid for 24 months.

9. Photos & Privacy

We may take photos for promotional use. Let us know in writing at arrival if you prefer not to appear. We do not sell data. See our Privacy Policy for details on cookies and email marketing.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Peru. Any dispute will be resolved first by direct negotiation, then by arbitration in Cusco, in English or Spanish.

11. Acceptance

Payment of deposit constitutes full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
